Traditional restored Turkish house Villa Harem is situated in a small village off Kalives and only 6 kms from Almirida east of Chania. It is an ideal destination for rest and relaxation with the marvellous view of Lefka Ori Mountain. The villa offers 2 double bedrooms and 3 single beds. Perfect for a family with older children and teens.

The Villa
Villa Harem is one of the oldest houses of the area. It was the residence of the Turkish "Passa" of the territory and it was built before 1840. The renovation has been carried out with great respect to the old architecture.

The villa
The villa is in typical Turkish Cretan style with a large central living room and the 2 bed rooms and 3 sleeping niches surrounding it. You enter into the living room containing 2 comfortable sitting areas, one around a TV with local and satellite channels, DVD, radio and CD. The other sitting area is around the fireplace.

On a slightly higher level there is a dinning area. An old stone arch is characteristic sample of the Cretan architecture dominates this room. The furniture is selected carefully to maintain the typical style for this period. One bat h room is also off the central room. Another bath room is located outside the house.

Bedrooms
2 double bedroom are found up a set of stairs to one side. The master bedroom is closed by a door while the other bedroom is separated with curtains for privacy.

On the ground floor are 2 sleeping niches with curtains that will appeal to children and teen-agers. Up another set of stairs is yet another sleeping nice with a 1½ size bed. The beds are either from stone (traditional Cretan bed) or wooden with traditional style. In the bedrooms you can find all the essentials for your service as wardrobes or hangers, bedside tables etc.

Kitchen
To right of the main room a full kitchen equipped with electric cooker, two doors refrigerator, dish washer, coffee machine etc for making breakfast and meals, here is also a second dinning table with chairs. If you like traditional way of cooking you can use the oven with wood or the barbeque outside.

The entire house is air-conditioned (cold-heat). The villa has two bathrooms one inside and the other outside the house. It has a washing machine, a steam iron and a hair drier. Hot water exists continuously and for this we have a solar heater.

Pool and courtyard
Outside in the courtyard area there is a pool, barbeque, wood burning oven, sun lounges, table and chairs. From here you have a perfect view of the White Mountains "Lefka Ori".

The beaches of Almirida and Kalives are only a short 10 minutes drive from Villa Harem. Here you also find an abundance of tavernas, shops and super markets.
