The Country House

Recently restored to its authentic prototype, this all stone and wood house combines the lost qualities of traditional housing with modern facilities and luxury. The house is through out furnished with antiques and authentic  pieces from the 19th century. The house is 185 sq. m enclosing a 60 sq. m courtyard and a 100 sq. m top terrace beautiful views to the Libyan Sea and the coast.

All rooms open either to the court yard or to the terrace with open views to the mountain, sea and coast. There is a capacity of 7 persons with 5 rooms, 2 double and one single bedroom, sitting room with fireplace, dinning room with two stylish couch beds that can be converted to two single beds,  2 bathrooms, 1 WC and a large, fully equipped kitchen with eating area for 6 - 8 persons. 

The interiors are furnished with selected pieces from neoclassical Greece and paintings of famous Greek artists. It can function as a unique family house or shared by friends and divided in two suites (two rooms each with own bath and central areas in between.There is air-con in the top floor, this is not necessary in ground floor due to the location of the house.

Location

The house is located in historic village, 12 km above the city of Ierapetra (600 m altitude) amidst a rocky and mountainous environment, classified of outstanding natural beauty. The village, a very old settlement from Venetian times (16th century) was till recently densely populated with a main market street. Half deserted nowadays, it is being rapidly renovated by rich Ierapetrineans. 

The location is ideal for all seasons vacationing, combining the coolness of the mountainous climate with easy access to the sea. The 20 minutes drive to the sea is rewarding, offering spectacular views of gigantic rocks and sea below. Splendid kilometres of sandy beaches and gulfs extend east of Irapetra while restaurants and taverns are to be found in the village, around neighbouring villages and the coastal front of Irapetra. Ancient and Byzantine monuments and sites are abundant in this part of Crete, as well as interesting tours and walks in the Cretan landscapes.
